Gunn, a Jackson attorney who resides in Clinton, is becoming more well known because of his association with two issues that engender significant interest and in some instances emotions in Mississippi.
Those issues are changing the state flag that includes the controversial Confederate battle flag as part of its design and enacting a lottery.
These issues have nothing in common except that Gunn is closely associated with both (for different reasons) and that they almost certainly will not be resolved this legislative session.
Gunn is the most visible Republican politician in the state to endorse changing the state flag. He also has stated unequivocally his opposition to enacting a lottery.
