Hinds voters in supervisor Districts 2, 4 go to polls today

Hinds County residents in Districts 2 and 4 today go to the polls to elect new county supervisors.

Polls open at 7 a.m. and close at 7 p.m. Voters again will use the county’s new voting system in which they mark paper ballots that later will be scanned electronically at the Hinds County Courthouse in Jackson.

Competing in the District 2 race are Darrel McQuirter of Clinton, a Democrat; and Alphonso “Al” Hunter of Edwards, running as an independent. They seek to fill the seat of longtime District 2 Supervisor Doug Anderson, who died in April.
