Hood says ‘system is working’

Hood, along with some past attorney generals, have recently received criticism for hiring attorneys for million dollar cases who happen to be some of their largest campaign contributors.

According to previous reports, Hood hired Booneville attorney Joe Langston to aid in the legal litigation of the $100 million MCI/WorldCom case. Langston, a campaign contributor for Hood, received a $7 million dollar payoff in legal fees.
