Members of the party’s administrative committee voted in a closed-door meeting late Thursday to hire Hall, who managed Supreme Court Justice Jim Kitchens’ successful campaign.
Their action appears to put to rest controversy over Hall’s selection. Members of the state executive committee decided to oust him last weekend amid concerns about the selection process.
Details of Thursday’s meeting remain unclear. Party chairman Jamie Franks voted to close the meeting hours after telling The Clarion-Ledger it was open to the media.
