The Centers for Disease Control has come out with its new state rankings for teen pregnancy. You know the rest of the story: we’re number one.

In response, state lawmakers are debating a bill that would implement a test program to provide information about the value of abstinence and explain the dangers of unprotected sex. Schools will be required to seek parental consent beforehand.

Rep. Philip Gunn has led the charge against the bill, arguing for abstinence-only sex education. Gunn, a fine legislator and a committed Christian, has cited his understanding of Scripture as the basis for his opposition to the bill.
