Implications make Iron Bowl enormous

Breaking six-year skid next step for Alabama

TUSCALOOSA – How big is the Iron Bowl?
So big that Alabama’s stoic coach is ackowledging its importance.
“To me,” Nick Saban said, “it’s the biggest game of the year. … It’s not just another game.”
Eyes of this state – and really the entire football nation – will be on Bryant-Denny Stadium on Saturday. Top-ranked Alabama (11-0, 7-0 SEC) is looking to break a six-game losing streak against underdog rival Auburn (5-6, 2-5), but this game also carries national implications the likes of which the Crimson Tide hasn’t seen in an Iron Bowl this decade.
