My answer has been a variation of the following: It would take a good program with good money to lure Mullen away from Starkville. He’s already a hero to the folks in maroon and white. While State has the league’s tiniest athletic budget, Mullen would likely stay put unless offered a job that he felt offered a better path to year-in, year-out success. But yes, I think he’ll be on some teams’ radar this offseason.
Well, The AJC’s Tony Barnhart states things a bit more plainly. He definitely thinks someone will come for Mullen. “Somebody with a big job is going to throw several million dollars at Dan Mullen when this season is over, if not sooner.”
Straight to the point, huh?
