No tax increase to save the pension plan, supervisors say
PASCAGOULA — Singing River Health System retiree Irby Tillman asked the Jackson County Board of Supervisors on Monday if a proposal by the SRHS Board of Trustees includes a tax increase as a solution for the failing pension plan.
And if so, he asked if the Board of Supervisors turned it down.
Supervisor Troy Ross said, “I have not seen anything that required a tax increase.”
Board President Barry Cumbest concurred with Ross.
