Utah is the college football world headquarters this season. No other state can claim two teams in the top 14 of the Football Bowl Subdivision polls (Brigham Young and Utah), a school in the Football Championship Subdivision rankings (Weber State) and the No. 2-ranked junior college program (Snow).
What’s more, Southern Utah broke its 19-game losing streak and Utah State … uh, let me think about this … is not nearly as bad as Idaho!
Yeah, life’s pretty good around here in the middle of the 2008 season, with Bowl Championship Series possibilities and – imagine this – potential playoff games, bringing us to the annual October conversation about what’s happened so far and where everybody’s headed.
