Louisville’s Triplett blazes his own trail

Many in his hometown just assumed Markese Triplett would follow in his father’s footsteps.
Albert Triplett was a blazing fast outfielder for Louisville High in the late 1980s who went on to play two years of minor league baseball in the Texas Rangers organization.
“I loved football, but it seemed like baseball was something I was forced to do,” Triplett said. “I always felt like I had to play so I could take up where my dad’s career left off. As I got older, I saw that really wasn’t how it was. He was OK with me playing whatever (sport) I wanted.”
