LSU fans who’ve had it up to the top of Les Miles’ hat with their head coach got some bad news yesterday when the NCAA delivered good news to Michigan.
Miles can alleviate a lot of pressure on himself by besting Nick Saban on Saturday, but if he does not, there will be plenty of Tiger fans wishing he’d pack up and skip town. With the size of Miles’ buyout — the Lousiana Purchase would be reversed and all those lands ceded to the coach — it’s unlikely that he can/will be fired by the school. So if the best hope is for him to leave on his own, the job at his alma mater will probably need to come open. That’s where the NCAA’s special delivery to Michigan comes in.
