Lt. Gov. Tate Reeves kicked off a two-day, 10-stop tour in Northeast Mississippi on Thursday to spread the message that the state is doing its part to grow the economy.
“We’ve got to focus on growing the size of our economy and not the size of our government ,” Reeves told the Tupelo Civitans. “Many of the decisions we’ve made in the capital the past five years have been focused on that. To grow the economy, we have to be fiscally responsible; we must have a tax code that’s fair, one that is balanced and one that encourages economic growth, not discourages it.”
Reeves also said improving educational attainment is critical as well.
