Madison County Republican Party to Host President’s Day Gala

The Madison County Republican Executive Committee will host its President’s Day Gala on February 18, 2013, at the Jackson Hilton Hotel. The gala begins with a social hour at 6:00 p.m. (cash bar), and the dinner program will begin at 7:00 p.m.

Governor Phil Bryant and Congressman Gregg Harper are scheduled to speak during the program. Congresswoman Marsha Blackburn of Tennessee’s 7th District will keynote the Gala. Blackburn is a native of Laurel and a graduate of Mississippi State University. As a small business woman, mother, grandmother, and Member of Congress, Marsha Blackburn has dedicated her service to making America a better, more prosperous, and freer place.

Blackburn was first elected to Congress in 2002. Blackburn quickly became a leader in Congress and a leading voice advocating a small, efficient federal government that is accountable to its citizens. She is regularly praised by good government groups like the National Federation of Independent Businesses, the Farm Bureau, the Chamber of Commerce, the Small Business and Entrepreneurship Council and the American Conservative Union. She has been named a Taxpayer Hero by Americans for Tax Reform each year she has served in Congress. Blackburn serves on the House Energy and Commerce Committee where she is vice-chair of the Subcommittee on Commerce, Manufacturing, and Trade.

The ticket price for the President’s Day Gala is $80.00. Tables of 10 may be purchased for $800. Anyone who purchases a full table also receives 2 tickets for a private reception at Wellington’s downstairs in the Hilton.
