As I said the outside is standard messaging from the governor, but the inside really raises questions. There are three bullets points under the heading: “Haley knows what it takes to succeed,” which include his two terms as governor (and his work in the aftermath of Katrina), and his role as chairman of the RGA and RNC (which just happened to be during great Republican victories).
These are all valid points. But what do they have to do with 2010 and supporting a Republican governor and members of Congress in Iowa? Nothing. My take is Barbour is being honest when he says he hasn’t made a decision about 2012 and this is basically him playing the field for the time being.
