Kevin Curtis sues federal government for wrongful arrest

Kevin Curtis of Corinth has filed a federal lawsuit against the the FBI, the Department of Justice and the Department of Homeland Security.

He was arrested in April of 2013 after letters containing the substance were mailed to President Barack Obama, Senator Roger Wicker and Lee County Justice Court Judge Sadie Holland.

The lawsuit says Curtis was held for five days although the government had no evidence to hold him on the charges.

He also claims the man later convicted of the mailings, James Everett Dutschke, was allowed to remain free while being investigated by federal authorities until his arrest.
