From WTOK Meridian…
The opening commentator called this event a “major event” for Mississippi Democrats in Meridian yet as he described it, the turnout was “small.”
Here’s the story:
Hattiesburg Mayor Johnny DuPree says he agrees with Gill that a two-party system is the key to the future for Democrats in Mississippi.
“I think that most people would understand and agree with me that a two-party system is what we need,” DuPree explains. “We don’t need all Democrats, we don’t need all Republicans. I think that’s two-tunnel vision. You need somebody tapping you on the shoulder saying, but have you thought about this?”
