Council candidate faces marijuana charge in North Carolina

Weston Rush Lindemann, running as a Democrat for City Council, faces charges for marijuana possession and marijuana paraphernalia in North Carolina.

The charges date to October, when Lindemann worked on the Hillary Clinton campaign, according to the North Carolina Cary Police Department arrest report. The arrest report said Lindemann was released within hours with no bond.

Lindemann is scheduled to appear in court on June 13, one week after the municipal elections. Lindemann said he expected the charges would be dropped.
