File: Motion to appoint Moore pension administrator
Former Mississippi attorney general and Jackson County son Mike Moore says he is willing to step in and protect the failed Singing River Health System retirement plan until a solution is found.
Attorneys for nine employees suing Singing River over the failed pension are asking that a Chancery Court judge temporarily appoint Moore to oversee the plan and protect its remaining assets.
The current trustees should be removed from oversight, the attorneys’ motion says, because they have breached their duty to the pension and its members, which number around 2,383.
Moore, reached at his Jackson office, said he would be glad to accept the challenge without charge.
