Most made reference to Thursday evening’s New Orleans Saints-Minnesota Vikings football game that opened the National Football League’s 2010 season.
At least one made mention of the Mississippi State University-Auburn University college football game also being played.
But every one of them lauded the 50 or so folks who put aside their channel changers and came out to the Thad Cochran Center on the University of Southern Mississippi campus to be the warned of the damage that more than a half dozen guest speakers said was being done to America by illegal immigration.
“We are in a common fight, a fight against those who would destroy our republic,” state Sen. Chris McDaniel, R-Ellisville, said. “It is our very way of life that is being challenged.”
