In an appearance Tuesday morning on Fox News’s Fox & Friends, Mr. Daniels said he had talked recently with former President George W. Bush about the possibility of jumping into the 2012 fray. He also joked about how much fun it would have been to run a competitive campaign against his old pal, Mississippi Gov. Haley Barbour, who decided not to run last month.
“We’re old pals, and we cut cards, and I drew a two,” Mr. Daniels said. “‘I tell you what — you all would have had a little more fun, a few more laughs, if we were both in there. And it would’ve been very clean and upbeat, which I hope it will be, anyway.”
