With nine draft picks, NFL shows faith in Urban Meyer’s program at Florida
Most picks of any school in the country; second-most in UF history

GAINESVILLE — New England Patriots coach Bill Belichick certainly ensured himself a lifetime invitation to Urban Meyer’s coaching clinic with his actions this weekend at the NFL Draft.

Belichick, one of Meyer’s best friends and a frequent visitor to the University of Florida, drafted tight end Aaron Hernandez with the 15th pick of the fourth round (113th overall) Saturday morning. Hernandez was the third former Gator selected by Belichick, who took pass rusher Jermaine Cunningham and middle linebacker Brandon Spikes in Friday night’s second round.
