On December 23, 2010, the Mississippi REALTORS Political Action Committee
(MARPAC) Trustees voted to endorse Jim Atchison in his candidacy for State
Representative District 116. With over 5,500 members statewide, MARPAC is
one of the state’s largest trade associations.
In his endorsement letter MARPAC Chairman, Ric Courts, wrote, “We feel that
your background and experience makes you the best candidate in understanding
and supporting issues that affect the REALTOR community.”
Atchison began his real estate career in 1993 and opened RE/MAX Results in
Real Estate in 1999. A member of the National Association of REALTORS and
the Gulf Coast Association of Home Builders, he has consistently been one of
the top producing agents in the State of Mississippi.
Atchison believes small business is the engine that will put the local and State
economy back on track and says, “As a real estate broker and small business
owner for the past 18 years, I have written, reviewed and negotiated contracts for
my clients. I will use these same skills to bring business back to the Coast.”
The Special Election is scheduled for Tuesday, January 11.
