With no thanks to our Sen. Trent Lott, America narrowly dodged a bullet when the so-called “immigration reform” bill was killed for the second time. Here’s to hoping it does not have nine lives.

Proponents such as Lott recognized that the bill was flawed, yet urged its passage anyway because it was “better than doing nothing.” But sometimes “doing something” is not better than doing nothing.
