New Google Map technology to help Mississippians look for missing money

Fairgoers will have Google Maps technology to search for unclaimed money and other property in their neighborhood through the state Treasurer website.

State Treasurer Lynn Fitch has announced that her office is using the latest technology at the Mississippi State Fair this year at the office’s unclaimed property booth inside the Trade Mart building on the Fairgrounds.

A person can go to booth’s computer and type in his address in the search field, and the street level mapping will zoom into the location, allowing an individual to see if he or she or anyone else on the street or in the neighborhood has unclaimed property held by the Treasurer’s office. Green dollar signs show up on the map of addresses that have unclaimed property.
