FORT LAUDERDALE – When Eli Manning watched his big brother win the family’s first Super Bowl three years ago, he admitted to having mixed feelings. He was happy for his brother, but bothered that he wasn’t the one in the spotlight.
Now, as Peyton Manning gets ready to go after his second Super Bowl championship, Eli’s mixed feelings haven’t changed.
“I’m very happy for Peyton,” Eli said Thursday. “But still it doesn’t quiet the desire to win another or get back to another Super Bowl. I think it drives me. I can feel both at the same time. I’m truly happy for him. But it does still remind you, ‘Hey, this is what it’s all about. This is where we have to get back to.’ ”
