The newly elected Hinds County district attorney says he won’t be in the back pocket of Jackson’s flamboyant and hyper-controversial mayor.

He won’t make firing all the prosecutors his first order of business when he takes over in January.

And, no, in case you were wondering, Robert Shuler Smith isn’t done working hard now that he’s won the election.
