A Sunday morning shooting outside a Jackson nightclub that hospitalized two people will add more ammunition to the Police Department’s argument for regulating nightclub hours, City Councilman Marshand Crisler said.

The City Council is expected to hear from the public today regarding a proposed ordinance that would require all bars and clubs to close at 2 a.m.

“(Sunday’s shooting) further states the obvious, that we have a serious problem at some of these establishments,” Crisler said. “And we as policy makers have to make a serious consideration to regulate these establishments.”
