Nunnelee hosts town hall in Senatobia

While Washington still doesn’t get the message about wasteful spending, flowing dollars to boost local infrastructure where it will generate jobs makes sense, U.S. Rep. Alan Nunnelee, R-Miss., told a town hall gathering in Senatobia.

“We give it another name, we call it the ‘misappropriations’ committee,” Nunnelee said of the House Appropriations panel, of which he is a member.

As one example, he cited his vote last week to return to the U.S. Treasury unused or reclaimed broadband funds in the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009, so-called “Stimulus I.”
