Occupy Mississippi joins the protest

Goals of individual protesters – organized by a group called Occupy Mississippi – may vary in detail, but, in general, are focused on shifting power from the wealthy and powerful to what they call the “underrepresented, or “the 99 percent.”

“Human greed, not corporate greed!$$$” read one sign carried by protesters.

“Banking needs a spanking,” read another one.

“I’m here because I’m tired of people being so greedy,” said Carole Miles, a former Jackson retiree who said she was forced by the economy to go back to work.
