Ocean Springs Mayor Connie Moran, an active Democrat who was the party nominee for State Treasurer in 2011, posted an endorsement of a Republican candidate for Jackson County Supervisor on her Facebook page late Wednesday night.

The Republican candidate and incumbent is Troy Ross, a former Ocean Springs city alderman. Ross is in the August 25th GOP runoff with former county supervisor Tommy Broadnax.

Either Ross or Broadnax will face Democrat candidate, Sean Alawine, in the general election.

Here’s the FB endorsement note from Moran:

“Calling all voters in Supervisor District 4 REGARDLESS OF PARTY! Please SHARE! You all know what to do if you want progress in OS and Jackson County!
If you did NOT vote in the primary on August 4th OR voted in the Republican Primary, YOU ARE ELIGIBLE TO VOTE in the Republican runoff on August 25th! Please consider supporting Troy Ross to continue as our Supervisor from Ocean Springs! He has served on our Board as Alderman-at-Large.”
