Ole Miss turns its back on its heritage

Rebels denying their heritage
I want to express my agreement with “No longer supporting Rebs” in Sound Off. I’m a graduate of Tulane but have always thought highly of Ole Miss — that is until they denied their heritage and succumbed to the political correctness that preaches hatred to anything associated with the Confederacy. I’m proud of my heritage that includes two great-uncles and two great-grandfathers that served in the army of the Confederacy and suffered under the blue Union soldiers and Reconstruction. I don’t expect you to print this, but I just needed to say it.

Ole Miss doing right thing
I would like to comment on those offended by Ole Miss’ action. Just because something is old doesn’t make it right. Ole Miss did the right thing with doing away with the flag and doing away with Colonel Reb. Anybody that doesn’t understand that, they have the wrong school. They will live through this and be better for it.

What about Colonel Sanders?
I was thinking about the colonel with the Ole Miss Rebels. I wonder if people get bothered by Kentucky Fried Chicken, because that’s Colonel Sanders.

Tate sounds like a child
Ben Tate needs to get out and try to get drafted as high as he can and keep his mouth shut. He’s delusional. He needs to shut his mouth and go out and play football. He sounds like a third-grader.
