Optimistic Bulldogs begin camp

Mississippi State players report to preseason practice today brimming with the usual mid-summer optimism. Only this time, they’re hanging their hat on something: Sure, they won just five games last year, but one of them was the season-ending Egg Bowl that capped a year of across-the-board improvement by a once-stagnant offense.

“Very confident, very confident,” offensive lineman Quentin Saulsberry said last week. “I’ve got a lot of confidence in my receivers, my quarterback, as long as we continue to grow together and bond together, the sky is the limit.”
