Mississippi agencies sloppy on vehicle records, report says

JACKSON, Miss. (WTOK) – A new report shows that Mississippi’s state agencies are keeping bad records when it comes to the vehicles employees drive.

The state of Mississippi owns more than 7,000 vehicles. But the PEER report says that’s only an approximation since the records are incomplete and inaccurate.

The Mississippi Department of Finance and Administration is responsible for the inventory and oversight. But the director says agencies aren’t all doing their part.
