The salary for Boise State’s Chris Petersen ranks at about the midpoint of Football Bowl Subdivision coaches, according to a database compiled by USA Today.
Petersen’s base salary ranks 53rd of 120 on USA Today’s list. He likely would be lower, but nine schools did not provide information and many, if not all, likely pay their coaches more than Petersen.
Petersen stands to make much more money over the next few weeks.
If the Broncos win 12 games, he will get a 19 percent raise for 2010 to $1,324,053. He already has earned at least a 5 percent raise for winning eight games and would get a 10 percent raise for winning 10.
