30 years later, Jackson poised for government remake?

The Committee to Make Jackson Great Again, the political action arm of Mississippi Project Incorporated (no affiliation with the Make America Great Again slogan of Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump), has drafted a petition and plans to gather signatures to change the city’s form of government to a council-manager system. If successful, the measure could appear on the ballot for the next municipal election in May.

The group’s founder, Corinthian Sanders, cited concerns across the city with ineffective department heads, poor budget management and lack of cooperation.
