Republican Gov. Phil Bryant will outline his legislative agenda and present broader goals for Mississippi this month during his State of the State speech.
It’s set for 5 p.m. Jan. 22 at the Capitol. The date is listed in Senate Concurrent Resolution 501, and Bryant spokesman Mick Bullock confirmed it Wednesday to The Associated Press.
Bryant is beginning his second year as governor. He’s pushing for development of charter schools, which are free of some state regulations. He also has said repeatedly that he opposes expansion of Medicaid under the federal health care law that President Barack Obama signed in 2010.
