Rahm hits hard in televised debate — McDaniel eyes a statewide bid — Bush separates himself from Romney

THE RETURN OF CHRIS McDANIEL — Miss. senator will decide this month about future run: Chris McDaniel, who narrowly missed toppling Mississippi Sen. Thad Cochran in last year’s GOP primary, will decide by the end of the month whether he intends to launch another statewide bid — perhaps for governor — the Republican state senator told Campaign Pro on Wednesday. “I’ve given it a lot of thought. I’ve been praying about it and talking to my family,” the tea party favorite said in a phone interview. Most recently, McDaniel formed the United Conservatives Fund, an effort he said is intended to “unite all factions of the conservative movement” and debate policy without “screaming and name calling.” He said he wants to ensure that effort gets off the ground before making a final decision about his political future. “I can’t delay forever,” he said. “I’m just really thinking it through.”
