OXFORD — After a particularly difficult practice on Tuesday night, Ole Miss defensive tackle Jerrell Powe slowly walked off the field with some teammates.
A group of reporters wanted to speak with him, but he almost snuck by them, blending into the crowd of athletes before finally being spotted and summoned for an interview.
That might not seem like a particularly big deal. But the fact that Powe could go nearly unnoticed anywhere is certainly a new phenomenon.
“There’s definitely a sense of pride,” Powe said. “I feel a lot better. I sleep a lot better.”
