The scenario to determine the two teams that will play in Bowl Championship Series title game seems simple. Texas will meet the winner of the SEC title game between Florida and Alabama, assuming that there are no upsets between now and the selections on Dec. 6.

But what about the other BCS games? That’s where filling out the remaining eight spots gets a little sticky. The loser in Atlanta will get one spot. Three unbeatens – TCU, Cincinnati and Boise State – are behind the Gators, Crimson Tide and Longhorns. Those three could all get in or only one if bowl go with higher-profile programs from BCS leagues, like Oklahoma State, Iowa or Penn State.

The most likely to make it are the Horned Frogs, who need just two wins to finish 12-0 and would be guaranteed a spot for being the top non-automatic qualifier in the final BCS standings. If the Bearcats lose at Pittsburgh, they might get left out at 11-1. And the Broncos are hoping they won’t get a similar at 12-o.
