Public officials, community share high hopes for charter school

Parent Stephanie George has a fifth grader at ReImagine.

She said she decided to try something new after her son, who previously attended Bates Elementary in the Jackson Public School District, started having behavioral and academic problems.

“Even though the hours were longer, they also said how there would be more one on one with them, and I thought that was something he needed,” George said of her decision to enroll her son at the school.

“So far I’ve been pleasantly surprised,” George said of her son’s first two weeks. “He hasn’t been in trouble as much as I thought he’d be. He’s had one incident, he hasn’t complained about the hours and his work is getting done.”
