Is there ever a good time to hit kids? This is a question that Jacksonians may have to answer, if Jackson Public Schools decides to reinstate corporal punishment.

School Board member Sollie Norwood sparked debate when he asked the Board to consider reinstating the practice districtwide. JPS stopped using corporal punishment in 1991, when it was determined ineffective in preventing bad behavior. JPS is gathering research for a public forum on the issue.
