The people of Minneapolis are naturally curious about Percy Harvin, their new multi-million dollar playmaker. They don’t watch much SEC ball up there in Minnesota, and all they hear about Harvin is failed drug tests and bad character.
Finally, after weeks of having his name tarnished in the media, Harvin and those close to him are starting to speak up on his behalf. Harvin has said all of the right things in his initial press conferences, and Sunday morning, Urban Meyer and defensive coordinator Charlie Strong defended and praised Harvin in a lengthy conference call with Minneapolis media.
Among the highlights:
Meyer, on Harvin’s character issues: “A lot of guys have off-the-field issues, but everything with Percy is very controllable.”
