Quarterback’s last year drew raves, not rants (Good news and notes in the piece)

Remember Bobby Reid? He was the quarterback who was the focal point on a newspaper column written on him by an Oklahoma City columnist. It sparked a memorable tirade from Oklahoma State Coach Mike Gundy. “I’m a man. I’m 40,” Gundy shrieked at full volume. It was one of the most popular YouTube downloads.
Reid left and played his senior year at Texas Southern University for former Tennessee State assistant coach Johnnie Cole.

Reid had applied for the NFL Draft before Cole contacted him and convinced him to play for Cole his senior year, that Cole had coached Vikings QB Tarvaris Jackson at Alabama State and he could help Reid get to the NFL.
