OXFORD — As former Ole Miss star Michael Oher waited in the Green Room at Radio City Music Hall, where the NFL Draft’s top prospects wait to hear their names called, a television camera caught him frowning as his stay lasted longer than expected.
But just a few minutes later, that disappointment turned to joy and even a few tears after he was selected by the Baltimore Ravens with the No. 23 pick in the first round.
“I wasn’t sure how I’d react, but it was just really emotional when I finally heard my name,” Oher said in a phone interview. “I’ve waited half my life for this day to come so it’s a huge relief.”
