Arkansas’ lottery in 2015 netted the state $71.9 million on $385.4 million in gross sales.
Louisiana in 2015 netted $158.8 million on $453.9 million in sales.
Nebraska netted $37.5 million on $160 million in sales.
Texas netted $1.23 billion on $4.3 billion in sales.
Wyoming netted $2.03 million on $33.4 million in sales.
Rep. Nick Bain, D-Corinth, said he opposes a lottery for Mississippi and so far nothing he’s seen as a member of the study committee has changed his mind.
“There are a lot more costs to running one than I really thought,” Bain said when asked if any of the study group’s findings to date had surprised him.
