Rep. Steven Palazzo, R-Biloxi, explains his vote against the Senate’s ‘fiscal cliff’ bill

U.S. Rep. Steven Palazzo provided one of the 167 votes against the Senate’s bill to block the “fiscal cliff,” but the measure passed the House and is headed to the White House for President Barack Obama’s signature.

The Senate passed the bill less than 24 hours earlier. It passed the House by a 257-167 margin.

Palazzo issued the following statement after the vote on the bill, which he said added almost $4 trillion to the deficit, contained minimal spending cuts and passed without the support of many House Republicans.
