Luck of the Draw Breaks Election Tie

After two tied elections, a Republican primary in a north Mississippi county has been decided by luck of the draw.

The tie-breaking procedure is in state law, but it’s seldom used. This time, it decided the Republican nominee for supervisor’s seat in Chickasaw County.

The Northeast Mississippi Daily Journal reports that after pulling pieces of paper from a bowl, Josh Russell came out the winner over Tina Pullen.
