State Sen. Chris McDaniel, R-Ellisville, announced earlier today that he’s holding a special event at noon Thursday to “announce his decision regarding a possible run for higher office,” which is expected to be for the U.S. Senate seat currently held by Thad Cochran.
Usually you don’t hold a special event to announce you aren’t running for higher office, but it’s not unheard of. What is unheard of, however, is busing people from the coast two hours up the highway to tell them, “I’m staying put.”
So when the South Mississippi Tea Party sent out a press release announcing their plans for Thursday, it all but confirms that McDaniel is going to run for something in 2014.
