Sam Hall comes out against Obama’s pre-K proposal

In an earlier post, I said the plan was not what I hoped, largely because the requirements would make it hard for some states – Mississippi included – to participate in the program if it came to fruition. What the president is proposing is creating statewide, state-funded programs in each state. That not only work in Mississippi; it’s also a bad idea.

Here’s some of the requirements outlined in the president’s plan that would make it difficult for Mississippi to use the proposed federal funds for a public-private pre-K partnership:
