Libertarian removed from Mississippi state Senate race
JACKSON, Miss. — Republican state Sen. Chuck Younger of Columbus now has a clear path to re-election.
The state Board of Election Commissioners on Wednesday removed Younger’s only opponent from the Nov. 3 general election ballot.
They said they were unable to establish whether Jake Reeves, a Libertarian, met a residency requirement. A Senate candidate must live in the state at least four years and in the district at least two years before the election.
